About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Implement innovative solutions to improve processes while reducing costs
  • Influence and facilitate communications between internal stakeholders
  • Act as a change agent to promote a culture of internal customer service
  • Lead continuous improvement and problem-solving initiatives, including ePPS
  • Be responsible for synthesizing simple to complex situations and presenting them to different levels of manufacturing or assembly management related to the fabrication or assembly of aircraft components
  • Interpret, review and approve drawings and other documents provided by the engineering department
  • Establish assembly and manufacturing strategies for aircraft components
  • Define the tooling required for the manufacture or assembly of aircraft components to ensure required geometric tolerancing
  • Align the implementation of engineering changes or assembly strategies by working closely with engineering, materials logistics, quality, production and other methods functions across the organization

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • College diploma (DEC/AEC) and/or university degree in mechanical, industrial, aerospace manufacturing engineering or a related discipline
  • 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of interior finishing (asset)
  • General understanding of dependencies between the various stations/positions in the aerospace manufacturing system
  • Detailed knowledge of planning, logistics, quality and production processes
  • Demonstrated strong leadership; capable of challenging processes while also committed to developing colleagues and cross-functional teams
