About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Administer the client's Storage and Backup Infrastructures’ Systems
Provide technical support for the client storage and backup infrastructures’ users (Connectivity, performance, troubleshooting, storage, backups, etc.)
Manage the backup clients, schedules and retentions
Monitor and evaluate the performance of storage and backup services
Coordinate the replacement of failed Backup, Storage & SAN components, and service restoration
Create and maintain detailed technical and graphical documentation as needed
Develop/update tools and scripts to improve and automate the administration of the Storage and Enterprise Backup operations
Lead complex projects involving storage solutions and products for mid-large environments
Provide on-call rotation-based support outside of business hours

Requirements

What you’ll need

Minimum of seven years of hands-on operational experience supporting enterprise storage and data protection platforms in production environments.
Solid working knowledge of multi-vendor storage ecosystems, including NetApp ONTAP-based systems, Dell block storage platforms, CEPH, Fibre Channel SAN environments using Cisco MDS, and enterprise backup solutions centered on Avamar and Data Domain.
Hands-on administration of Cisco MDS Fiber Channel fabrics.
Extensive experience installing, configuring, and administering enterprise backup platforms, including Dell EMC Avamar and Dell EMC Data Domain and Veeam backup and replication.
Networking Fundamentals - Ethernet switching concepts, TCP/IP stack behavior, Routing basics and Link aggregation (LACP).
