About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Coordinate budget definition activities with portfolio managers, the Finance department and the Head Office.
- Develop and maintain the master capacity model.
- Monitor budget results and forecasts to ensure adherence to the operating plan and to support decision-making.
- Provide monthly financial and performance analysis reports to the Director of Engineering.
- Lead decision-making on hiring versus subcontracting based on make/buy policy, budget, HR resources and the organization’s strategic skills priorities.
- Identify gaps between program requirements and available budget and resources.
- Measure business performance by collecting, consolidating and summarizing key performance indicators, and lead review meetings with department heads.
- Define, map, document, deploy, monitor and continuously improve engineering activity management processes within your scope.
- Act as liaison between technical teams and functions such as Finance, Human Resources and Procurement.
- Build a network of colleagues across Airbus Europe and Airbus Canada to share working methods and implement best practices.
- Lead the transfer and coaching of continuous improvement concepts, principles, tools and techniques.
- Develop strategies and roadmaps to improve engineering activities.
- Manage the technical/behavioral competency matrix, anticipate the organization’s future needs and lead Knowledge Management initiatives.
- Support the implementation of subcontracting strategies for “Make” and “Extended Make”, technical specifications and service-level agreements.
- Drive the identification and quantification of risks and opportunities to enable decision-making and the implementation of mitigation and improvement plans.
Requirements
What you’ll need- You hold a degree in Engineering or Business/Management, Project Management, or have equivalent relevant experience.
- You have at least 10 years’ experience in aerospace engineering and/or business management.
- You have a strong understanding of budget management, financial forecasting and cost control.
- You are fully bilingual (French/English) and comfortable presenting to and engaging with senior executives/directors.
- You are able to identify issues and propose solutions, exercising sound judgment under high-pressure situations.
- You are creative in problem solving, accountable, highly organized and have a strongly customer-focused approach to managing internal stakeholders.
- You are process-oriented and have expertise in competency management.
- You have a solid understanding of project management and knowledge of Part 21/AS9100 regulations is an asset.
- You are proficient in knowledge management and continuous improvement principles and methodologies.
- You are highly skilled with spreadsheets and data analysis applications (e.g., Looker Studio, Qlik Sense).
