About the role
- Involved in the full end-to-end accounting cycle for North American entities, including general ledger entries and analysis, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and intercompany transactions
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP
- Support month-end and year-end close activities, including journal entries, accruals, and variance analysis
- Perform and review balance sheet reconciliations, including bank and payroll-related reconciliations, and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
- Review and reconcile payroll transactions in partnership with HR and payroll providers, including oversight of multi-state payroll tax activity
- Support preparation and review of required state payroll tax filings and annual state reporting
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, corporate accounting policies, and local statutory requirements
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and shared service centers across multiple regions and time zones
- Assist with internal and external audits, including preparation of supporting documentation
- Support group reporting, consolidation activities, and ad hoc financial analyses
- Identify and drive continuous improvement initiatives across accounting processes, systems, and controls
- Participate in special projects and perform additional duties as needed
Requirements
- CPA designation preferred
- 5–7 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a multi-entity or multinational environment
- Strong, hands-on knowledge of the full accounting cycle
- Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP
- Experience reviewing payroll activity and working with payroll providers in a multi-state environment
- Experience working with ERP systems (e.g., Microsoft Business Central, ADP or similar platforms)
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with financial reporting or consolidation tools a plus
