About the role

Approval (as DRE) and delivering complex aerospace structures from concept to certification
Oversee the creation of 3D CAD models, assemblies, and detailed drawings in compliance with aerospace standards
Ensure adherence to design governance, configuration control, and change management processes
Participate in design reviews and ensure compliance with stress, systems, and manufacturing requirements
Collaborate with stress engineers, systems engineers, and manufacturing teams to deliver optimized designs
Support client interface for design-related technical discussions
Drive the team to deliver to schedule and quality
Ensure technical quality of work package activities; represent at customer meetings; check and approve technical deliverables

Degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, or Structural Engineering (or equivalent)
Strong technical and leadership capability
Knowledge of door design is an advantage
Advanced proficiency in CATIA V5 and aerospace design methodologies
Knowledge of aerospace structural design principles, including metallic and composite structures
Excellent understanding of GD&T, drawing standards (ASME/ISO), and PLM systems
Ability to interpret and apply certification standards
Good communication skills
Knowledge of manufacturing processes and DFM principles (desired)
Familiarity with change management (desired)
Experience working with stakeholders, lead engineers, chief engineers and project managers
Experience with composite structure design and assembly integration
Previous approver/authoriser experience for primary structures
Extensive experience in aerospace structural design engineering
Demonstrable experience in concept design, detail design, and production release
Experience working with OEMs or Tier 1 suppliers on major aircraft programs
