About the role

  • Lead the Engineering teams: lead the team to delivery, monitoring performance, facilitating growth and ensure the team to achieve the targeted objectives
  • Delivery: ensure delivery performance (contract, deliverables, workloads), and quality (RFT, OQD, OTD & CSAT) of a portfolio of projects and bids
  • Business Development: work with Business Development Director, Chief Engineers and Capability teams to identify opportunities and support proposals/bids
  • Managing the team, partners, suppliers and clients: oversee contact between team members, project managers, clients, suppliers and partners; communicate project progress and engage and instruct team members
  • Negotiating and managing contracts: support negotiating and managing contracts with clients and suppliers
  • Project Planning: define technical objectives, delivery hours, cost and timelines; determine resources and milestones
  • Manage Resources: monitor expenditures, allocate resources, ensure projects are adequately resourced and enable recruitment process
  • Project Reporting: ensure Project Tracking processes and Project Finance Reviews are completed per company process
  • Conducting risk assessments: conduct risk and complexity assessments and develop mitigation strategies
  • Implementing technical regulatory standards: enforce technical standards to maintain quality and consistency
  • Finding solutions for technical issues: lead in finding viable technical solutions
  • Staff Development: assess and monitor staff performance and provide feedback to UK Capability Leads and People Services Manager

Requirements

  • Engineering Degree/Diploma would be advantageous
  • Beneficial: IPMA/Prince/APM/PMI qualification
  • English essential
  • Customer-focused with recognition of governance needs
  • Ability to establish and meet deadlines, multi-task and prioritise
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong planning and delivery orientation
  • Full business lifecycle management experience, including capture, qualification and developing capture plans and winning strategies
  • Naval Architecture / Mechanical Engineering / Marine industry experience
  • Experience within service and support for UK projects
  • Experience of processes across the CADMID life cycle
  • Proven and significant experience in an Operational, Functional or Programme leadership position
  • Technical and commercial acumen
  • Experience of performance management of people & teams
  • KPI ownership & delivery
