About the role
- Drive forward the Defence sector within Electrical and Embedded Systems for client projects
- Design and develop real-time embedded hardware solutions
- Participate in various hardware lifecycle methodologies
- Manage hardware requirements and traceability using industry best practices
- Plan and execute hardware tests
- Document all aspects of the hardware development process according to company standards
- Ensure hardware solutions meet defined processes and industry standards for reliability, safety and security
Requirements
- A BEng/BSc (Hons) degree or equivalent in Electronics or similarly related subject
- Knowledge of Hardware Design in a Defence environment
- Understanding of data communications and networking principles
- Experience in hardware design and production of hardware requirements
- Familiar with hardware testing tools and techniques
- Clear communicator - both written and verbal
- SC (Security Clearance) will be required to support this role
- Desired: Experience working on underwater acoustics and/or sonar
- Desired: Experience within Systems Engineering
- Desired: Experience designing equipment for the sub-sea environment
- Desired: Experience with Design for Cost / Design for Manufacture and transition to production
- Desired: Experience of IVVQ activities
