About the role
- Perform in a lead role on data analytics-focused projects where you will develop, evaluate, and deploy cutting-edge methods and models for travel insurance and related fintech products
- Lead risk management & actuarial tasks such as valuation of products and liabilities and experience studies
- Manage our reserving funds including working with external actuaries in partner insurance organizations as relevant
- Provide actuarial inputs in pricing and claims throughout product life cycle
- Build end-to-end design of actuarial process to provide scalable InsurTech product development and pricing support
- Ensure compliance with applicable legal and accounting requirements, which may be in accordance with both US and international standards
- Understand and contribute to building analyses and predictive ML models in Python/R
- Collaborate and communicate effectively with our broader product team within a coding environment, while adhering to model development and maintenance best practices
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree (STEM field) or equivalent experience
- Broad knowledge of pricing and risk aspects of the Actuarial field
- 7+ years of Actuarial/Analytical experience
- 4+ years of project leadership
- Experience leveraging traditional insurance and non-traditional data sets using SQL, Python & R
- Experience conducting analyses in Excel and programming languages
- Proficiency in common ML programming languages (Python, R, Spark…) and familiarity with ML algorithms
- Experience building and deploying statistical machine-learning models, such as linear regression, logistic regression, GLM, GAM, etc
- Experience interacting with senior management
