About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Evaluate documents and proofs to determine who to pursue for subrogation
- Issue demands to third-party carriers (TPC)
- Follow up with third-party carriers via calls and emails
- Send cases to collections when the adverse party is uninsured
- Engage in discussions and negotiations with third-party carriers after issuing demands
- Coordinate with third-party carriers, insured parties, and vendors to drive recovery to closure
- Write arbitration contentions defending the insured
- File arbitration submissions with proofs and scene diagrams
- Review available documents for subrogation
- Analyze claim liability issues and evidence to determine whether recovery from a third party is warranted
- Evaluate facts, evidence, liability, damage amounts, and other factors
- Identify subrogation potential and assign the next strategy
- Collect, upload, and ensure the availability of supporting evidence and documentation
- Communicate subrogation needs and investigation strategies to frontline adjusters
- Issue demand notices according to client requirements and state-specific regulations
- Contact responsible parties or their insurance companies to obtain contact information and payment status
- Provide detailed claim-status updates through emails, letters, and calls
- Submit files to arbitration when required based on damage analysis
- Refer cases to outside collection agencies and attorneys when necessary
- Negotiate and settle subrogation claims with attorneys, adverse carriers, or at-fault parties
Requirements
What you’ll need- Higher Education Diploma
- 0–2 years of relevant experience
- Computer literacy
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Phone call handling skills
- Ability to review claims documents and evidence
- Ability to analyze liability, damages, and subrogation potential
