About the role
- Responsible for software development for EXL’s proprietary LifePro product.
- Triage client reported production issues and perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
- Propose and create solutions in collaboration with the client and Business Analysts.
- Attend requirement gathering sessions to understand end-to-end client requirements.
- Create technical design documents after analysis of software development life cycle (SDLC).
- Participate in technical walkthroughs for various projects.
- Help offshore team during estimations by interacting with the Business Solution Architect.
- Analyze business requirements and areas of complexity.
- Research and analyze feasibility of client requests for product enhancements.
- Create component design for impacted modules, along with enhancements and developments of existing COBOL/C# modules.
- Analyze risks associated with project.
- Drive initiatives for new processes to enhance delivery quality.
- Participate in weekly specifications and architecture meetings.
- Review client pain points with LifePRO Product Owners and Business Analysts.
- Create technical design document and perform code fixes or new changes.
- Review Unit test results.
- Follow Agile methodology for Change Request/Modification deliverables.
Requirements
- Requires Bachelor’s degree in Electronics/electrical engineering or a computer/IT-related field plus Five (5) years of Experience in Software Developer or a related occupation.
- 5 years of professional experience with Life, Health and Annuities insurance products.
- Must have 5 years of experience with each of the following: (1) COBOL and C#; (2) SQL Server Management Studio; (3) API and REST API Webservices tools, including Swagger, Postman and SOAP UI; (4) Defect Management tools, including JIRA or HP Quality Center; (5) deployments through GITHUB; (6) Data analysis from datasets using SQL Queries; (7) Excel to extract insights and make data-driven recommendations; (8) Writing Business Design and Technical Design documents; and (9) Performance improvement using Process Load Balancing.
