About the role

  • - Ingest and prepare data from multiple sources (databases, CSV/Excel, APIs, text files, email logs, PDFs, process mining/event logs).
  • - Cleanse, standardise and validate data (deduplication, normalization, parsing free text, entity reconciliation) to create reliable datasets for analysis.
  • - Transform and model data into analysis-ready tables and KPI datasets using ETL/ELT tools, SQL, Power Query/Power BI dataflows, Python/R, or Alteryx.
  • - Define, calculate and maintain KPI definitions, business rules and data lineage; publish authoritative metric definitions and version control.
  • - Analyse data to identify trends, exceptions, root causes, capacity constraints and opportunity areas; translate findings into clear recommendations.
  • - Build and maintain reports, pivot tables, visualisations and interactive dashboards (Power BI, Tableau or equivalent) tailored for operational teams, managers and executives.
  • - Automate recurring reports and data pipelines to reduce manual work and improve timeliness.
  • - Liaise with process owners, OpEx leads and IT to resolve data quality issues and prioritise remediation actions.
  • - Document datasets, transformations, assumptions and reporting logic; maintain a metadata catalogue and simple user guides.
  • - Deliver ad-hoc analyses and deep-dive investigations to support initiatives and change programmes.
  • - Ensure compliance with data security, privacy and governance policies.

Requirements

  • - 3–5+ years’ experience in data analysis, reporting or business intelligence, ideally supporting Operations or Continuous Improvement teams.
  • - Strong SQL skills for data extraction, joins, aggregation, window functions and performance tuning.
  • - Advanced Excel skills (power pivots, Power Query, formulas, data modelling).
  • - Experience building dashboards and visualisations in Power BI or Tableau; knowledge of DAX a plus.
  • - Practical experience with data cleansing and standardisation techniques for structured and unstructured text (regular expressions, tokenisation, basic NLP/entity extraction).
  • - Familiarity with one or more scripting/programming languages for data manipulation (Python or R).
  • - Experience with ETL/data pipeline tools (Alteryx, SSIS, Airflow, or Power BI dataflows) and understanding of data warehouses or data lakes.
  • - Strong analytical mindset — hypothesis-driven analysis, statistical comfort (basic distributions, trends, correlation).
  • - Proven ability to translate technical analysis into concise, business-focused insights and visual narratives.
  • - Good stakeholder engagement experience — gathering requirements, explaining limitations, delivering to non-technical audiences.
  • - Strong attention to data quality, documentation and reproducibility.
  • - Experience with process mining tools (Celonis, Signavio Process Intelligence) or log/event analysis.
