About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design, develop, and implement statistical and machine learning models for fraud detection and prevention
- Analyze large datasets to identify fraud patterns, anomalies, and emerging threats
- Monitor model performance, recalibrate thresholds, and recommend improvements
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate models into operational systems
- Prepare detailed reports and dashboards for stakeholders on fraud trends and model effectiveness
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and data governance standards
- Develop, enhance, and maintain fraud detection models to identify and mitigate fraudulent activities across various channels
- Work closely with data science, risk, and operations teams to ensure models are accurate, scalable, and aligned with business objectives
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s/Master’s in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Data Science, or related field
- Strong knowledge of fraud risk management concepts and industry best practices
- Proficiency in SQL, Python, R, or SAS for data analysis and modeling
- Experience with machine learning algorithms, including logistic regression, decision trees, and gradient boosting
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Prior experience in BFSI fraud analytics is preferred
- Ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment
- Strong business acumen with a focus on actionable insights
- Familiarity with real-time fraud detection systems and big data platforms
