About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Treat individuals experiencing various neurological, orthopedic disorders, and mental health injuries.
- Collaborate with supervising therapists to assist clients with establishing and meeting meaningful goals in a variety of settings including client homes, their local community, community centres, gyms, public libraries, etc. within the Greater Vancouver area.
- Assist in the delivery of individualized treatment plans based on analysis and clinical reasoning of supervising therapists.
- Liaise with a variety of community partners and rehab professionals (OTs, PTs, SLPs, SWs, etc.) to facilitate client goals and independence.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Physiotherapy Assistant/Occupational Therapy Assistant diploma from a recognized community college, or other equivalent
- Two years of relevant OTA/PTA experience is required
- Knowledge of the rehabilitation approach to client care and the roles of OT, PT and SLP
- Experience with rehabilitation services (hospital, clinic, community), pool therapy and/or personal training certifications are all assets
- Excellent computer skills (i.e. ability to work in MS Word and Outlook)
- Great interpersonal skills and the proven ability to work with different personality types
- A valid Driver’s Licence and access to a vehicle
