About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Assist in creating and revising basic design drawings with guidance
- Perform basic engineering calculations to support design decisions
- Prepare reports, calculations, and deliverables that meet technical standards
- Review personal work for accuracy and contribute to team quality control reviews
- Research and apply state and local design codes and ordinances for compliance
- Learn to apply engineering principles to site designs and critical problem-solving
- Collaborate with senior engineers to gain exposure to project coordination and technical challenges
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams, providing project-specific design criteria as needed
- Contribute to renewable energy projects, including solar PV and BESS, power studies, transmission, and substations
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
- 0–2 years of experience in electrical design or related engineering discipline
- Familiarity with AutoCAD or other drafting software (preferred)
- Basic understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Familiarity with MathCAD or similar tools is a plus
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in calculations, drawings, and reports
- Curiosity, initiative, and eagerness to learn new engineering concepts
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
