About the role

  • Design overhead and underground transmission line projects from concept through delivery.
  • Support the development of project estimates, schedules, and resource plans for proposals and active work.
  • Perform and support quality control reviews to ensure engineering deliverables meet standards and client expectations.
  • Participate in project meetings, providing technical insight and representing EVS with clients and partners.
  • Respond to client questions and help resolve project challenges efficiently and professionally.
  • Contribute to department workflows, tools, and best practices to improve consistency and delivery.
  • Apply and support standards such as NESC, IEEE, ANSI, and ASTM across transmission line projects.
  • Help develop and maintain transmission line design standards and guidelines.
  • Mentor and support the growth of engineering staff to meet project and client needs.
  • Identify opportunities to expand EVS services, including right-of-way acquisition and permitting support.
  • Support business development efforts through proposal preparation and client presentations.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships and promote EVS as a trusted engineering partner.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline
  • Five or more years of experience in transmission line design within a utility, consulting, or EPC environment
  • Proficiency with industry tools such as the PLS-CADD suite, MFAD, AutoCAD, or similar software
  • Experience with underground transmission line design is a plus
  • Familiarity with tools such as PLS-CAISSON, MFAD, LPILE, or PLS-TOWER preferred
  • Knowledge of General Order 95 preferred
  • Professional Engineer licensure is a plus
  • Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment with a positive, professional mindset.
