About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Architecture & pipeline design: You design, build and optimize scalable data pipelines and modern data platforms in cloud environments (including STACKIT).
  • Product development with impact: You actively shape the data infrastructure for our internal flagship products – from real-time situation awareness in the public safety sector (X-PLORE) to intelligent data processing in forestry (TimberNex).
  • Top-tier client projects: You support exciting clients, including those in the logistics sector, with complex data integrations and challenging IT projects.
  • Modern tooling & streaming: You connect systems via service buses and message queues, transform data with dbt and Talend, and make it performantly usable in Exasol.
  • Data excellence: You establish high standards for data governance and data quality so our data is always reliable, secure and compliance-ready.
  • Innovation & AI: You experiment with LLMs and integrate AI-powered workflows into our data structures.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • You are an experienced Senior Data Engineer with a deep understanding of modern data architectures.
  • You are proficient with tools like dbt, Talend and relational/analytical databases (ideally Exasol).
  • You have solid experience with cloud infrastructures (ideally STACKIT or comparable European/global clouds) as well as event-driven architectures (message queues / service bus).
  • Data governance and data quality are not buzzwords for you, but practiced parts of the software lifecycle.
  • You have a strong affinity for new technologies.
  • You know how to use AI tools (LLMs) efficiently in everyday development and are excited about "vibe coding" – smart, AI-assisted prototyping and development focused on concept, architecture and speed.
  • Fluent German and good English skills and willingness to work with the team in Kayhude (flexible on-site or hybrid model).

Benefits

Comp & perks
  • The best of both worlds: Varied consulting projects with major logistics customers combined with the tech-incubator atmosphere of our own products (X-PLORE & TimberNex).
  • Meaningful work: Your work in the public safety sector can save lives; your work at TimberNex protects and digitizes our forests.
  • Mobility tailored to you: We keep you mobile – depending on needs and agreement, a company car or even a company truck is available.
  • Experience your own data: You won’t just sit dry at a desk. In our exciting offroad events we combine utility with real driving fun – we test our products where they’re needed: out in the field!
  • State-of-the-art tech stack: No legacy sins. We consistently rely on cloud (STACKIT), high-performance DBs (Exasol) and modern transformation frameworks.
  • Flexibility & culture: Work from our attractive office in Kayhude or use our fair hybrid model. Flat hierarchies, a can-do mentality and lots of room for experimentation.
