About the role

  • The Vice President (VP) of Medical Communication Strategy will serve as a leader accountable for strategy development for Medical Communications client work.\n
  • This individual will shape and drive the development of innovative, evidence-based communication strategies that effectively convey the clinical and scientific value of our pharmaceutical clients’ products.\n
  • With expertise in bridging science, medicine, and marketing, the VP will inspire teams, foster client relationships, and position the agency as a trusted partner in the pharmaceutical industry.\n
  • In addition, this individual will be a key driver in growing the Agency’s MedComm body of work by expanding existing agency’s current client relationships and participating in new business pitches.\n
  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and oversee medical communication strategies across multiple client therapeutic areas to support product launches, lifecycle management, and HCP-focused education initiatives.\n
  • Provide strategic counsel to pharmaceutical and biotech clients on best-in-class scientific messaging and evidence dissemination.\n
  • Lead the strategic conceptualization and execution of high-impact programs, in collaboration with cross-discipline leads (AM, Creative, Medical, PMO, CS, CX, et al), including unbranded and branded campaigns, scientific platforms, and disease education initiatives.\n
  • Team Leadership and Development: Build, mentor, and inspire high-performing teams of medical communication strategists.\n
  • Ensure best practices in the development of medical communications deliverables.\n
  • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and accountability across the organization.\n
  • Ensure team members stay abreast of emerging trends in medical communications, therapeutic landscapes, and regulatory environments.\n
  • Client Engagement: Build, mentor, and inspire high-performing teams of medical communication strategists.\n
  • Ensure best practices in the development of medical communications deliverables.\n

  • Medical Communications Growth: Drive the agency’s growth through organic and identifying new business opportunities, expanding client portfolios, supporting RFI and RFP responses, and pitches.\n
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align medical communication strategies with broader client opportunities.\n

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in medical communications, pharmaceutical marketing, or related fields.\n
  • Proven track record in developing and executing successful medical communication strategies.\n
  • Highly collaborative, with a proactive approach and focused on delivering value to clients.\n
  • Deep understanding of pharmaceutical product development, commercialization, and regulatory frameworks.\n
  • Strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.\n
  • Outstanding communication, time management and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and inspire diverse stakeholders internally and externally.\n
  • A history of delivering measurable results in a client-facing environment.\n
  • Experience in digital and emerging communication platforms is highly desirable.
