Junior/Mid AI Legal Specialist
EverAIAI Legal Specialist ensuring compliance with worldwide laws in fast-paced AI e-commerce platform. Collaborate with compliance team to manage legal responsibilities and documentation.
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Owning compliance with worldwide laws applicable to AI, e-commerce platforms
- Contracts and assessments required under data protection law, including the GDPR (DPAs, TIAs, etc.).
- Preparing, maintaining required compliance documentation, e.g.:
- Internal documentation under data protection, AI Governance, consumer rights, and similar laws
- EverAI’s AI systems inventory (in line with EU guidance)
- Risk assessments under applicable safety laws
- Product & feature reviews (e.g., for consumer rights, data protection compliance)
- Owning day-to-day compliance tasks:
- Standard IP issues (e.g., DMCA notices, copycats)
- Contract reviews (NDAs, licenses)
- Legal terms updates (including TOS, Privacy Notices, and content policies)
- Tracking, researching and analyzing relevant legal developments (e.g., the application of new laws or regulatory guidance to EverAI)
- Guidance from & Regular Check-ins with our Legal & Safety Lead
- Meeting with our Legal & Safety Lead, a US lawyer by training, with 10+ years experience in litigation and in-house roles, on a regular basis to clarify questions, co-develop recommendations based on research, and share any relevant insights

Requirements
What you’ll need- Legal education (e.g., Masters of Law, Juris Doctor, recognized legal certification)
- 2-6 years of experience as legal counsel or similar positions:
- At least 2 years of your experience must be working with contracts generally, and data protection law specifically. For example:
- You should know what a Data Protection Agreement and Transfer Impact Assessment are, and have some experience preparing them;
- You should have experience contacting vendors about contract-related issues.
- Experience in applying or interest in learning the legal landscape applicable to B2C companies
- Ability to distill complex legal concepts into plain English
- Professional experience or interest in AI
