About the role
- Owning compliance with worldwide laws applicable to AI, e-commerce platforms
- Contracts and assessments required under data protection law, including the GDPR (DPAs, TIAs, etc.)
- Preparing and maintaining required compliance documentation
- Owning day-to-day compliance tasks
- Risk assessments under applicable safety laws
- Product & feature reviews for consumer rights and data protection compliance
- Guidance from and regular check-ins with our Ethics & Compliance Officer
Requirements
- Legal education (e.g., Masters of Law, Juris Doctor, recognized legal certification)
- 2-6 years of experience as legal counsel or similar positions
- At least 2 years of your experience must be working with contracts, generally, and data protection law, specifically
- Ability to distill complex legal concepts into plain English
- Interest in AI
- Strong communication & collaborative skills (perfectly fluent in English)
- Goal-oriented, ownership and commitment
- Doer mindset - we are moving fast and need people who can balance execution, planning, and strategy
- Willing to learn, open to feedback
- Comfortable reviewing and discussing uncensored AI-generated content and NSFW material
