About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design, develop, and maintain data integration pipelines that enable cross-SYSCOM data sharing and interoperability
- Collaborate with data owners and system engineers to ensure data governance, security, and compliance with DoD standards
- Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards to provide leadership with actionable insights, KPIs, and performance metrics
- Enable real-time or near–real-time metrics visibility for program execution, technology maturation, and funding alignment
- Design and implement Phase III transition tracking tools to monitor technology insertion, operational adoption, and program outcomes
- Analyze transition status, risks, timelines, and return-on-investment metrics to support decision-making across NAVAIR portfolios
- Apply data science methods (e.g., statistical analysis, trend analysis, pattern recognition) to identify, merging technology trends, program execution patterns, and funding-to-outcome relationships
- Develop predictive or exploratory models to support forecasting, portfolio alignment, and strategic planning efforts
- Research and assess new analytical approaches and tools relevant to Navy R&D and acquisition environments
- Work cross-functionally with government program managers, engineers, analysts, and contractors across NAVAIR and other SYSCOMs
- Prepare technical documentation, briefings, and executive-level summaries to communicate findings and recommendations
Requirements
What you’ll need- Active DoD Secret clearance (or ability to obtain)
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, IT, Engineering, or related field
- 5–10 years of relevant experience in data analytics, research, or systems analysis (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
- Expertise in data science and statistical methods to identify emerging technology trends, program execution patterns, and portfolio risks
- Demonstrated experience with Power BI or similar business intelligence tools
- Experience working with large, complex datasets and multiple data sources
- Knowledge of data science techniques, statistics, and analytical methodologies
- Experience supporting NAVAIR, SYSCOM, or DoD RDT&E programs is a plus
- Familiarity with Phase III, technology transition, or innovation ecosystems (e.g., SBIR/STTR)
- Experience with SQL, Python, R, or similar analytical/programming tools
- Understanding of data governance, cybersecurity, and DoD compliance requirements
