About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Design, develop, and maintain data integration pipelines that enable cross-SYSCOM data sharing and interoperability
  • Collaborate with data owners and system engineers to ensure data governance, security, and compliance with DoD standards
  • Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards to provide leadership with actionable insights, KPIs, and performance metrics
  • Enable real-time or near–real-time metrics visibility for program execution, technology maturation, and funding alignment
  • Design and implement Phase III transition tracking tools to monitor technology insertion, operational adoption, and program outcomes
  • Analyze transition status, risks, timelines, and return-on-investment metrics to support decision-making across NAVAIR portfolios
  • Apply data science methods (e.g., statistical analysis, trend analysis, pattern recognition) to identify, merging technology trends, program execution patterns, and funding-to-outcome relationships
  • Develop predictive or exploratory models to support forecasting, portfolio alignment, and strategic planning efforts
  • Research and assess new analytical approaches and tools relevant to Navy R&D and acquisition environments
  • Work cross-functionally with government program managers, engineers, analysts, and contractors across NAVAIR and other SYSCOMs
  • Prepare technical documentation, briefings, and executive-level summaries to communicate findings and recommendations

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Active DoD Secret clearance (or ability to obtain)
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, IT, Engineering, or related field
  • 5–10 years of relevant experience in data analytics, research, or systems analysis (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
  • Expertise in data science and statistical methods to identify emerging technology trends, program execution patterns, and portfolio risks
  • Demonstrated experience with Power BI or similar business intelligence tools
  • Experience working with large, complex datasets and multiple data sources
  • Knowledge of data science techniques, statistics, and analytical methodologies
  • Experience supporting NAVAIR, SYSCOM, or DoD RDT&E programs is a plus
  • Familiarity with Phase III, technology transition, or innovation ecosystems (e.g., SBIR/STTR)
  • Experience with SQL, Python, R, or similar analytical/programming tools
  • Understanding of data governance, cybersecurity, and DoD compliance requirements
