About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead all aspects of procurement and sourcing in coordination with other departments
- Source, evaluate, and purchase goods and services to meet company requirements
- Prepare and issue Request for Quotes (RFQs), ensuring they include technical, quality, contractual, and schedule requirements
- Manage orders and coordinate with management for orders exceeding approved purchase values
- Ensure compliance with internal and governmental regulations through documentation
- Identify and select suppliers
- Conduct cost, price, and technical analyses to select suppliers according to organizational policies and government regulations
- Analyze business requirements and develop and execute sourcing strategies and initiatives for both products and services
- Aid management with sourcing and supply chain activities including budget analysis
- Handle supplier selection and relationship management, negotiate contracts and pricing, and ensure compliance to the contracting and procurement standards
- Work with quality and engineering to test the performance of new materials, parts, components and tooling
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree (BA) from a four-year college or university and three to five years related experience
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common legal documents (e.g. buying agreements, sourcing agreements, etc.)
- Ability to effectively analyze cost savings in relation to products and services
- Ability to search for and identify alternate suppliers and work with other departments to test competing and alternate products in an effort to secure cost savings
- Ability to communicate well with all levels of management
- MBA (nice to have)
- Negotiation experience on large commodity contracts
- Fluent in German
