About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Install, configure, and administer databases
- Monitor and tune databases
- Install, configure, and manage applications
- Provide technical support for the database environment
- Oversee database development and organization
- Monitor application usage and performance
- Manage access
- Handle database and application incidents
- Coordinate database and application support
- Integrate into the Development team and cooperate closely with a major client’s IT team
Requirements
What you’ll need- University degree in IT combined with at least 10 years of relevant IT professional experience
- Minimum 6 years of experience with modelling tools, such as UML
- Minimum 5 years of experience with RDBMS
- Experience with database design and modelling using Oracle, PostgreSQL, and MsSQL
- Experience in database administration, tuning, management, and security
- Excellent knowledge of application development environments
- Experience with full database and transaction log backup and restore strategies
- Experience with active/active and active/passive clustering
- Experience with high-availability strategies, including log shipping, DB mirroring, replication, and SRDF
- Experience in Disaster Recovery tests
- Experience in database monitoring, troubleshooting, performance tuning, maintenance, and auditing configuration
- Good knowledge of designing and developing web and multi-tier Internet applications
- Experience writing technical documentation
- Understanding of Active Directory in the context of database security and Windows scripting preferred
- Postgres certification is an asset
- Excellent command of English
