About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Design, develop, and execute test strategies for healthcare and medical software applications
Create and maintain test cases, exploratory testing approaches, regression testing suites, and risk-based testing strategies
Build, maintain, and improve automated tests where they provide meaningful value
Perform manual and exploratory testing when human judgment, investigation, or domain understanding is needed
Validate front-end and back-end functionality, REST APIs, workflows, integrations, business rules, database interactions, and data integrity
Write clear defect reports, document risks, and communicate findings in a way that helps the team make good decisions
Work within Estenda’s ISO 13485 registered Quality Management System, documentation standards, and applicable regulatory expectations
Use approved AI tools where appropriate to support productivity, test design, documentation, analysis, and testing efficiency
Continue developing your technical, healthcare-domain, regulatory, and quality engineering skills

Requirements

What you’ll need

A 4-year degree in a technical field, preferably Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related discipline
7-8 years of experience as a QA Engineer, Software Test Engineer, or similar role
Strong knowledge of software quality practices, including test planning, test case design, defect management, traceability, test metrics, and risk-based testing
Experience testing web applications, APIs, front-end and back-end functionality, integrations, workflows, business rules, and data-driven scenarios
Experience with tools such as Postman, Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar tools
Experience building and maintaining automated tests using Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, or similar frameworks
Ability to understand relational databases, ER diagrams, data workflows, and table relationships
Ability to write SQL queries to validate data accuracy and integrity
Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills
An organized, accountable, flexible, and collaborative working style
Interest in healthcare technology and in building software that performs well in real world environments
