About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Deliver hydrology and hydrogeology assessments, reports, and technical appendices for planning, permitting, and environmental compliance
- Identify and assess water-related impacts and risks for renewable energy and infrastructure projects
- Produce clear, defensible, regulator-ready technical documentation for client and stakeholder decision-making
- Apply technical review and quality assurance processes to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance
- Collaborate with ecologists, hydrogeologists, engineers, and environmental specialists to integrate water considerations into project design
- Manage technical tasks, meet project deadlines, and maintain high-quality standards across global consulting projects
- Write hydrology and hydrogeology EIA chapters and associated technical appendices
- Support scoping and baseline data collection for surface water and groundwater
- Liaise with multidisciplinary project teams
- Prepare documentation for planning and permitting processes
Requirements
What you’ll need- Degree in hydrology or a related discipline
- Excellent report writing skills
- Experience delivering hydrology and hydrogeology environmental impact assessment (EIA) chapters and associated technical studies
- Familiarity with UK-wide water-related legislation, planning policy, local authority planning policy and guidance, and regulatory requirements
- Familiarity with Irish water-related legislation, planning policy, local authority planning policy and guidance, and regulatory requirements
- Demonstrated experience in renewables projects, including onshore wind, electricity transmission infrastructure, solar, and hydrogen
- Knowledge of planning and environmental requirements
- Strong data interpretation skills
- Ability to manage tasks independently and work on multiple projects simultaneously
- Experience writing flood risk assessments, including peak flow estimation using appropriate UK methodologies and hydraulic modelling
- Experience using GIS, including ArcPro, for spatial analysis, mapping, and surface water modelling
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite and SharePoint
