About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead environmental risk evaluations, permitting, and approvals for technology infrastructure and major capital projects
  • Identify permitting requirements during site acquisition and due diligence processes
  • Manage regulatory agency interactions and develop mitigation strategies for environmental risks
  • Collaborate with architecture and engineering partners on conceptual master planning
  • Communicate environmental requirements to legal, real estate, design, and sustainability stakeholders
  • Oversee preparation of reports, permitting documents, and environmental reviews at federal and state levels
  • Serve as project manager, technical expert, and QA/QC reviewer
  • Drive business development through proposal preparation and client relationship management
  • Monitor project performance, budgets, schedules, and health and safety protocols
  • Work across ERM’s global network to share best practices and deliver results

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering, environmental science, biology/ecology, planning, program management, or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • 4+ years of relevant experience in environmental permitting and/or due diligence
  • Proven ability to manage complex projects, meet deadlines, and lead multidisciplinary teams
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience preparing technical reports and presenting to clients
  • Ability to build and maintain client relationships
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced consulting environment
  • This position is not eligible for immigration sponsorship
  • Experience with permitting timelines, risk identification, and mitigation strategies preferred
  • Technical skills in wildlife or ecological surveys, such as wetland delineations and wildlife assessments, preferred
  • Familiarity with air quality permitting and multi-media regulatory compliance programs preferred
