About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead environmental risk evaluations, permitting, and approvals for technology infrastructure and major capital projects
- Identify permitting requirements during site acquisition and due diligence processes
- Manage regulatory agency interactions and develop mitigation strategies for environmental risks
- Collaborate with architecture and engineering partners on conceptual master planning
- Communicate environmental requirements to legal, real estate, design, and sustainability stakeholders
- Oversee preparation of reports, permitting documents, and environmental reviews at federal and state levels
- Serve as project manager, technical expert, and QA/QC reviewer to ensure quality and compliance
- Drive business development through proposal preparation and client relationship management
- Monitor project performance, budgets, schedules, and health and safety protocols
- Work across ERM’s global network to share best practices and deliver results
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering, environmental science, biology/ecology, planning, program management, or a related field, or equivalent experience
- 4+ years of relevant experience in environmental permitting and/or due diligence
- Proven ability to manage complex projects, meet deadlines, and lead multidisciplinary teams
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience preparing technical reports and presenting to clients
- Ability to build and maintain client relationships
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced consulting environment
- This position is not eligible for immigration sponsorship
- Experience with permitting timelines, risk identification, and mitigation strategies preferred
- Technical skills in wildlife or ecological surveys, such as wetland delineations and wildlife assessments, preferred
- Familiarity with air quality permitting and multi-media regulatory compliance programs preferred
