About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Acquire land, land rights, licenses, leases, permits and other documents necessary for construction, operation and maintenance of facilities
Conduct diverse and complex negotiations with landowners or their designees
Settle complex damage claims related to property damage during construction
Search courthouse and other records to determine property ownership and ownership interests
Advise and assist in establishing fair market values for acquiring land and land rights
Draft or supervise preparation of rights-of-entry, damage claims, contracts, easements, licenses, leases, permits, options to purchase and other project documents
Comply with corporate health and safety policies
Perform other assigned or required duties
Work in a field-based role with 100% travel and remote project locations
Support pipeline and electric transmission project efforts

Requirements

What you’ll need

High school diploma
3 to 6 years of ROW experience
Solid working knowledge of personal computers, Microsoft Office Suite, Google Earth, ArcGIS and data management software
Knowledge of real estate values and accepted real estate appraisal practices
Ability to work in remote locations for long periods of time
Ability to conduct complex negotiations with landowners or their designees
Ability to communicate effectively through oral and written communications
Excellent interpersonal skills and a high degree of professionalism
Ability to meet criteria identified in Job Demands & Conditions Analysis for Office and Field Positions
Ability to stand and/or walk for long hours on uneven and steep terrain, potentially in variable weather conditions
Compliance with corporate health and safety policies
