About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide environmental, health, and safety leadership and technical support at a client facility.
- Ensure compliance with applicable OSHA, environmental, and company requirements.
- Manage EHS policies, procedures, permits, licenses, and required documentation.
- Provide daily EHS support to production, maintenance, engineering, and operations teams.
- Conduct risk assessments, job hazard analyses, safety inspections, and hazard mitigation activities.
- Develop, implement, and improve EHS programs including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Hot Work, Fall Protection.
- Investigate incidents, injuries, near misses, and environmental events.
- Conduct root cause analyses and determine corrective and preventive actions.
- Deliver EHS training to employees, supervisors, and contractors.
- Conduct inspections and audits of plant operations, facilities, and management systems.
Requirements
What you’ll need- BS in Safety, Occupational Health, Engineering, or related science degree preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years relevant EHS experience with exposure to the manufacturing or research and development industries preferred.
- CSP preferred
- Experience conducting health and safety risk assessments and industrial hygiene monitoring.
- Working knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations, including CAL OSHA.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively.
- Ability to work independently and in a team setting, with guidance and direction.
- Strong work ethic with a passion to learn, grow, and thrive.
- Proven experience as a Senior EHS Specialist.
- In-depth knowledge of EHS regulations and standards.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
