About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide open pit technical and project management expertise to complete mining studies, mine planning, Ore Reserve reporting, due diligence studies and operational reviews.
  • Be a Project Manager for technical study encompassing concept, pre-feasibility and feasibility studies within multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Ensure these studies are delivered on time and within budget and monitor and report project performance.
  • Be a business development leader to source technical study opportunities through your extensive business network.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the client’s unique requirements.
  • Provide technical input and support to the CSA Global mining team, incorporating mine optimisation, design, scheduling, cost estimation and operational support.
  • Deliver a high standard of professional work that reflects the client’s requirements and grows the business’ reputation.
  • Ore Reserve estimation and reporting generation and sign-off according to the JORC Code, as a Competent Person, or to the Canadian CIM / NI 43-101 requirements as a Qualified Person, or other international CRIRSCO standard public reporting codes as applicable.
  • Manage contractors who work in the team to ensure their work adheres to the scope and meets quality standards.
  • Maintain and grow your professional network to identify and secure job opportunities.
  • Generate professional, accurate and concise technical reports.
  • Conduct Peer Reviews to provide appropriate quality assurance.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Comprehensive open pit experience as a Mining Engineer in operating mines (preferred) or detailed mine planning studies.
  • Demonstrated understanding of mine planning software, either Deswik or Datamine, and Whittle preferred or demonstrated ability to adapt to these packages.
  • Awareness of JORC and Ni 43-101, SAMREC and reporting code requirements.
  • An understanding of Ore Reserve estimation and auditing.
  • Aware of the experience required to achieve competency for Ore Reserve estimates in several commodities.
  • Visible respect and understanding of the importance of Health and Safety.
  • Ability to coordinate, plan and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to develop and manage client relationships and networks within the mining and corporate sectors.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Exceptional communication skills, particularly in written reports.
  • Proven ability to work as a productive and positive team member.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Mining Engineering.
  • Member AusIMM or similarly recognised organisations.
  • Valid working rights in Australia.
