About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Travel to beautiful, remote regions across Canada to support field programs and stewardship initiatives
- Contribute to transformative mining and energy projects for major clients
- Play a key leadership role in a growing fisheries team delivering complex work across Canada and globally
- Operate from one of ERM’s major Canadian offices or within a flexible hybrid environment
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of aquatic scientists, hydrologists, wildlife biologists, toxicologists, and other experts to solve complex sustainability challenges
Requirements
What you’ll need- Required B.Sc. in Fisheries Biology or a related discipline or equivalent experience
- Registered Professional Biologist (or equivalent), or eligibility to obtain designation
- 4+ years of consulting experience in freshwater fish and fish habitat assessments, sampling, aquatic biology, and water quality programs
- Advanced written and oral communication skills, including technical reporting and permitting documentation
- Strong knowledge of federal, provincial, and territorial regulations relevant to mining and oil & gas
- Proven ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment, work independently with minimal supervision, and travel extensively
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a strong commitment to safety
- Driver's License Required: This position requires a valid driver's license and/or the ability to operate a company vehicle due to the nature of job duties, which include frequent travel to various client locations across a large geographical area
- Pleasure Craft Operator’s License
- This position is not eligible for immigration sponsorship
