About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead wildlife programs that directly support major mining and energy projects
  • Provide technical expertise on species at risk, wildlife habitat, and ecological assessments
  • Influence environmental approvals through high-quality EAs/EISs and mitigation strategies
  • Build trusted relationships with clients, regulators, and Indigenous communities
  • Mentor junior team members and strengthen ERM’s wildlife capabilities
  • Contribute to business development and client growth

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Required B.Sc. in Biological Sciences or a related field
  • 4+ years of environmental consulting experience
  • Experience with industrial projects, including environmental effects analysis, mitigation planning, and monitoring
  • Strong understanding of federal, provincial, and territorial regulations and survey methodologies (especially in BC, Alberta, and Northern Canada)
  • Proven experience leading wildlife field programs (birds, amphibians, large mammals)
  • Advanced technical writing and reporting skills
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and mentor team members
  • Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects within scope, budget, and schedule
  • Commitment to health and safety protocols
  • Driver's License Required: This position requires a valid driver's license and/or the ability to operate a company vehicle due to the nature of job duties, which include frequent travel to various client locations across a large geographical area
