About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead wildlife programs that directly support major mining and energy projects
- Provide technical expertise on species at risk, wildlife habitat, and ecological assessments
- Influence environmental approvals through high-quality EAs/EISs and mitigation strategies
- Build trusted relationships with clients, regulators, and Indigenous communities
- Mentor junior team members and strengthen ERM’s wildlife capabilities
- Contribute to business development and client growth
Requirements
What you’ll need- Required B.Sc. in Biological Sciences or a related field
- 4+ years of environmental consulting experience
- Experience with industrial projects, including environmental effects analysis, mitigation planning, and monitoring
- Strong understanding of federal, provincial, and territorial regulations and survey methodologies (especially in BC, Alberta, and Northern Canada)
- Proven experience leading wildlife field programs (birds, amphibians, large mammals)
- Advanced technical writing and reporting skills
- Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and mentor team members
- Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects within scope, budget, and schedule
- Commitment to health and safety protocols
- Driver's License Required: This position requires a valid driver's license and/or the ability to operate a company vehicle due to the nature of job duties, which include frequent travel to various client locations across a large geographical area
