About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Lead wildlife programs that directly support major mining and energy projects
Provide technical expertise on species at risk, wildlife habitat, and ecological assessments
Influence environmental approvals through high-quality EAs/EISs and mitigation strategies
Build trusted relationships with clients, regulators, and Indigenous communities
Mentor junior team members and strengthen ERM’s wildlife capabilities
Contribute to business development and client growth

Requirements

What you’ll need

Required B.Sc. in Biological Sciences or a related field
4+ years of environmental consulting experience
Experience with industrial projects, including environmental effects analysis, mitigation planning, and monitoring
Strong understanding of federal, provincial, and territorial regulations and survey methodologies (especially in BC, Alberta, and Northern Canada)
Proven experience leading wildlife field programs (birds, amphibians, large mammals)
Advanced technical writing and reporting skills
Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and mentor team members
Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills
Ability to manage multiple projects within scope, budget, and schedule
Commitment to health and safety protocols
Driver's License Required: This position requires a valid driver's license and/or the ability to operate a company vehicle due to the nature of job duties, which include frequent travel to various client locations across a large geographical area
