Consultant, Environmental Scientist – Wetland Delineator
ERMConsultant, Environmental Scientist delivering wetland delineations and supporting environmental permitting assessments at ERM, a sustainability consultancy. Collaborating with multidisciplinary experts across projects requiring deep technical expertise and fieldwork.
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Deliver high-quality wetland delineations and habitat assessments that support environmental permitting and impact evaluation.
- Provide sound scientific analysis and defensible documentation that supports complex regulatory decisions.
- Contribute to permitting strategies that allow projects to move forward responsibly and efficiently.
- Collaborate across disciplines to integrate biological and environmental data into broader project solutions.
- Represent ERM’s commitment to safety, quality, and sustainability in both fieldwork and client-facing engagements.
Requirements
What you’ll need- BA/BS or Master’s degree in a natural science discipline
- 2+ years of professional experience, including a minimum of two field seasons of wetland delineation
- Minimum of two (2) field seasons of wetland delineation experience using the 1987 Corps of Engineers Wetland Delineation Manual and applicable Regional Supplement(s)
- Familiarity with U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Regional Supplements (Arid West and Great Plains)
- Ability to conduct extended fieldwork (up to 75% travel) in variable weather conditions and challenging terrain
- Working knowledge of sub-meter GPS technologies, field data collection, and map interpretation (NWI, USGS, aerial imagery)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience preparing detailed technical reports
- Demonstrated commitment to safety and adherence to health and safety protocols
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and adapt to evolving project needs
- Driver's License Required: This position requires a valid driver's license and/or the ability to operate a company vehicle due to the nature of job duties, which include frequent travel to various client locations across a large geographical area
