About the role
- Design and lead the execution of water studies for major mining projects throughout Canada
- Help clients deliver initial and expansion-phase environmental assessments, resolve challenges in permitting applications, refine operational decisions and guide major decisions during closure planning
- Provide oversight and technical strength and guidance to Integrated Water Resources team, integrating hydrology, hydrogeology, geochemistry, and toxicology
- Lead preparation of technical documents ranging from hands-on interpretation to delegating work and serving as senior technical reviewer
- Contribute to business development: identify and develop opportunities, prepare technical proposals, and take active leadership in developing new business
- Serve as main point of contact for clients for water management related scopes and build long-term client relationships
- Collaborate in multi-disciplinary teams to integrate work across service lines and communicate findings to a wide range of audiences
- Help shape strategy and share accountability for business growth in Canada
Requirements
- P.Eng. or P.Geo with MSc/PhD in civil or environmental engineering or related field
- 15+ years of consulting experience in water resource management, impact assessment and permitting in the Mining Sector
- Specifically, expertise in hydrometeorology, water balance and/or geochemical modeling, and hydrologic modelling and modeling of environmental water quality
- Solid grasp of the key regulatory drivers within the mining and energy sector
- Well-developed team building and influencing skills; unquestionable integrity
- Recognized technical expertise by an established reputation in the marketplace, including positive reputation with key regulators relevant to environmental approvals
- Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain long-term relationships with clients
- Experienced people management leader
- Strong English writing and presentation skills
