About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Craft compelling messages that build bridges across diverse communities
- Develop educational content to combat misinformation about LGBTQ+ issues
- Assist in creating social media posts, graphics, and other digital assets
- Support the development of press releases, statements, and other external communications
- Explain the real impacts of anti-LGBTQ legislation to various audiences
- Develop materials to engage supporters, members, donors, and volunteers
- Support digital campaigns that mobilize supporters and educate the public
- Track and analyze engagement metrics to improve communications strategies
- Collect and help tell personal stories that highlight shared values

Requirements
What you’ll need- Experience or education in communications, journalism, marketing, or related fields
- Familiarity with social media platforms and digital communication tools
- Strong writing and editing skills
- Basic graphic design skills and/or willingness to learn
- Understanding of LGBTQ+ issues and commitment to equality
- Highly organized and detail-oriented
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated commitment to advancing Equality Florida's goals and objectives
