About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Lead, coach and develop the skills, motivation and performance of the agronomic research expert team, with particular focus on seed producibility.
Identify, evaluate and develop innovative agronomic practices, methods and technologies.
Conduct research projects across multiple crops and environments.
Transfer research results to production teams and operational protocols.
Collaborate with seed production specialists, agronomists, breeders and digital phenotyping experts to develop applicable crop protocols.
Contribute to data integration and analysis to develop sustainable, long-term seed production strategies.
Identify opportunities for collaboration with external partners and participate in joint research projects.
Supervise Enza Zaden’s contribution to joint research initiatives.
Interact with international colleagues and undertake regular business travel.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Minimum 8 years of experience in a similar position within the seed industry, including team management.
PhD or Master’s degree in Agronomy, Agricultural Sciences, Agricultural Engineering, or equivalent; French posting requires a minimum of Bac+5 (Master’s level).
Proven experience in leading and coaching people, with a focus on individual development.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with emphasis on practical applications and field realities.
Demonstrated experience managing complex and diverse agronomic projects in seed production, including producibility assessment and operational implementation.
Experience initiating, preparing and launching projects that introduce new approaches or technologies, including stakeholder management.
Ability to work with international, multidisciplinary and multicultural teams.
Excellent interpersonal, communication and collaboration skills.
Strong verbal and written communication skills in French and English.
Flexibility, resilience and adaptability in a fast-paced, innovation-driven environment.
