About the role
- Own the end-to-end design and delivery of data-centric solutions, translating client requirements into practical architectures and ensuring successful implementation in collaboration with delivery teams
- Act as a key architectural contact for clients and teams, clearly communicating design decisions, options, and trade-offs while supporting informed decision-making through structured analysis and consulting expertise
- Ensure solutions meet required standards, regulatory frameworks, and non-functional requirements (e.g. security, performance, resilience, and cost), proactively managing risks, dependencies, and quality throughout delivery
- Contribute to bids and proposals by shaping solution approaches, developing estimates, and producing clear, client-facing technical materials that demonstrate deliverability
- Continuously develop your technical and consulting skills, contribute to reusable architectural assets and best practices, and support the growth of colleagues through guidance and mentoring.
Requirements
- Strong experience in data modelling, transformation, migration, and analytics/AI solutions, with knowledge of data quality, metadata, and modern platforms
- Hands-on experience with AWS and/or Azure data services, plus knowledge of distributed systems, integration, microservices, and containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Understanding of enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g. TOGAF), with the ability to translate business requirements into scalable technical designs
- Effective communication and stakeholder management, with experience delivering within large transformation programmes and presenting to governance forums
- Experience supporting bids and proposals, with a background in Defence and/or Central Government and familiarity with GDS/Defence standards.
