About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Own the end-to-end design and delivery of data-centric solutions, translating client requirements into practical architectures and ensuring successful implementation in collaboration with delivery teams
Act as a key architectural contact for clients and teams, clearly communicating design decisions, options, and trade-offs while supporting informed decision-making through structured analysis and consulting expertise
Ensure solutions meet required standards, regulatory frameworks, and non-functional requirements (e.g. security, performance, resilience, and cost), proactively managing risks, dependencies, and quality throughout delivery
Contribute to bids and proposals by shaping solution approaches, developing estimates, and producing clear, client-facing technical materials that demonstrate deliverability
Continuously develop your technical and consulting skills, contribute to reusable architectural assets and best practices, and support the growth of colleagues through guidance and mentoring.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Strong experience in data modelling, transformation, migration, and analytics/AI solutions, with knowledge of data quality, metadata, and modern platforms
Hands-on experience with AWS and/or Azure data services, plus knowledge of distributed systems, integration, microservices, and containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes)
Understanding of enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g. TOGAF), with the ability to translate business requirements into scalable technical designs
Effective communication and stakeholder management, with experience delivering within large transformation programmes and presenting to governance forums
Experience supporting bids and proposals, with a background in Defence and/or Central Government and familiarity with GDS/Defence standards.
