About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Supporting independent panels to make robust decisions
- Leading application teams across various types of applications and legislation.
- Providing or facilitating the provision of specialist consent processing expertise and advice to various key stakeholders.
- Support teams to achieve compliance with statutory timeframes and budget constraints.
- Assist the Principal Advisor to identify areas for improvement/ training requirements.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Excellent knowledge of resource management sector, legislation and case law and its application
- Understanding the machinery of government processes and systems including cabinet guidelines, rules and conventions (desirable)
- Ability to work under pressure, manage conflicting workloads, and statutory deadlines across multiple projects by demonstrating good risk-based prioritisation of workflow, including adapting to emerging issues
- Experience providing planning advice and evidence relating to large/complex applications to decision makers and the Environment Court
- Proven experience/or aptitude for operating regulatory systems, preferably in the management of natural resources
- Experience facilitating meetings, including conferencing, caucusing of experts, and hearings (preferable)
