About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Structural engineering design and calculations for all structural components including columns, beams, slabs, foundations, and lateral systems.
  • Design and engineering using materials such as structural steel, concrete, masonry, cold formed structural steel, and wood.
  • Assemble and coordinate engineering drawings and contract documents in collaboration with our BIM technologists and other members of the engineering team.
  • Conduct field reviews and other contract administrative duties.
  • Draft project-related correspondence.
  • Lead internal project design teams, including delegating appropriate design tasks and overseeing the technical production of design engineers.
  • Participate in client meetings, facilitating solutions to design issues and challenges and providing status updates.
  • Review of architectural, electrical, mechanical, and structural drawings.
  • Mentoring and coaching of junior staff to help cultivate their professional development.
  • Develop and monitor project budgets.
  • Such other duties and responsibilities as Entuitive may assign to you from time to time.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • An engineering degree with a focus on structural engineering
  • 8+ years of structural engineering experience in the design and construction of buildings/structures.
  • Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) licensure.
  • Strong technical judgment and advanced problem-solving ability
  • Knowledge of the appropriate building codes and standards (OBC/NBCC, CSA A23.3, CSA S16, etc.).
  • Strong project management capability with a proven track record of delivering projects on time and on budget.
  • Working knowledge and ability to use programs such as Microsoft Word and Excel and structural analysis software (SAP2000, RAM, etc.).
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written with the ability to work with people at all levels including project stakeholders and clients.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities and deliverables on an ongoing basis.
