About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Understanding of steel detailing conventions (gauge lines, edge distances, weld symbols etc.)
  • Operating within steel standards and codes
  • Create structural steel fabrication drawings
  • Visualize and interpret steel structure drawings in 2d and 3d
  • Design and detail connections including checks for conflicts with support steel and equipment
  • Work between multi-disciplinary engineering groups
  • Foundation detailing including pile cap layout and design

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 3-7+ years’ drafting experience in MicroStation and AutoCAD
  • 2+ years’ experience creating structural steel fabrication drawings
  • Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology
  • Experience with 3d drafting
  • Familiarity with high voltage substation equipment support structures
