About the role
- Evaluate, enable, and manage the safe and reliable interconnection of DER across the power distribution system
- Perform essential hosting capacity, protection, power flow, and voltage studies
- Oversee the quality and accuracy of modeling and engineering deliverables across DER projects
- Collaborate closely with internal teams for seamless integration and efficiency
- Manage project schedules and develop processes
- Coordinate cross-functional inputs and ensure key milestones are met
- Mentor less experienced engineers and provide direction
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in electric utility planning
- Proficiency in at least one of the following: CYME, Synergi, or ASPEN Power Flow
- Ability to travel up to 5% as required
- FE/EIT required
- Experience with large-scale DER studies (1 MW-10 MW), including feasibility studies and system impact studies
- Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering preferred
- Knowledge of software automation and scripting
- Experience creating protective device settings files
- Understanding of 8760 simulations in LoadSEER or similar software
