About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Oversee the core accounting function, ensure strong financial controls and close discipline.
Develop talent and help build a scalable accounting organization.
Lead day-to-day accounting operations while driving continuous improvement.
Own the monthly close process to ensure accurate, complete, and timely financial results.
Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, balance sheet reviews, and close deliverables.
Partner with the VP of Finance and business leaders to ensure accounting results are understood and corrective actions are closed.
Maintain and strengthen accounting controls, policies, procedures, and standard work across the function.
Identify control gaps and process risks, and implement practical countermeasures to improve compliance, accuracy, and efficiency.
Lead external audit support and ensure taxes and compliance-related accounting activities are completed on time.
Support potential acquisitions by partnering on accounting due diligence and integration planning.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree in accounting required; Finance degree considered with strong accounting experience.
7+ years of progressive accounting and/or finance experience, including leadership responsibility.
Prior experience leading accounting operations and month-end close in a manufacturing or project-based environment is strongly preferred.
CPA and/or CMA preferred.
Strong knowledge of US GAAP, internal controls, and core accounting processes.
Demonstrated experience leading, developing, and improving the performance of others.
Proven ability to drive process improvement and strengthen operating discipline.
Experience supporting ERP implementations, upgrades, or finance systems improvements preferred.
Strong Excel and accounting systems capability.
Strong problem-solving, organizational, and follow-through skills.
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively across all levels of the organization.
High attention to detail, accuracy, and ownership.
Self-starter who can work independently, make sound decisions, and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
