About the role

  • ENERCON’s Energy Group is seeking an Electrical Designer to join the team based in one of our various office locations across the U.S.
  • Join our dynamic engineering team as an experienced designer/drafter and elevate your career by creating and refining detailed drawings, conducting site walkdowns, and collaborating closely with engineers.
  • Utilize advanced tools, adhere to strict quality and safety standards, and mentor junior team members, all while working on diverse and exciting projects.
  • Create and/or modify detailed engineering drawings using AutoCAD and Plant 3D and understand AutoCAD national standards.
  • Perform walkdowns at client sites and generate walkdown reports; work directly with Engineering and other designers for design concept interpretation and coordination.
  • Conduct self-checks of created models, drawings, sketches, and related data; may review the work of other designers/drafters and provide mentoring and leadership.
  • Understand and follow organizational, area/departmental, and client procedures, safety policies, and directives.
  • Meet applied time goals set for position/discipline.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field with a minimum of 2 years of design engineering experience OR Associate's Degree in related field with minimum 6 years of design engineering experience OR minimum of 10 years of experience
  • Proficient with both 2D and 3D design software
  • AutoCAD experience is required
  • Preferred experience with Plant 3D, Smart Plant, or Revit
  • Working knowledge of basic engineering techniques, principals, standards, and concepts for assigned engineering discipline; competent in the basic concepts of other disciplines as they relate to the assigned discipline
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of Electrical Design codes, standards, criteria, and design execution pertinent to various aspects of design
  • Ability to travel between 10-15% of the time; duration of travel may vary depending on project and client needs
