Providing engineering support for our Nuclear Services Group, DOE and Commercial Projects
Proposal preparation, developing design studies, preparing engineering calculations and reports
Attending project meetings, performing walkdowns, and mentoring and training junior employees
Preparing, reviewing, and overseeing geotechnical site investigations
Performing reviews of engineering calculations and reports in the areas of deterministic and Probabilistic Seismic Hazard Analysis (PSHA), site amplification/response analysis, and spectrum compatible acceleration time history development
Collaborate Across Disciplines: Act as the bridge between engineering teams, ensuring seamless integration and coordination across all project disciplines
Shape Project Success: Develop innovative design studies, define project scopes, prepare or review geotechnical site investigation programs and create accurate engineering estimates to drive project excellence
Master Procurement & Installation: Draft detailed specifications for geotechnical projects, evaluate technical bids, and select top-tier solutions to meet project needs
Think Creatively: Bring fresh perspectives and innovative solutions to solve complex technical challenges and push projects forward
Be Hands-On in the Field: Travel to project sites, conduct walkdowns of plant structures, systems, and components related to the project work scope

Requirements
Advanced Degree in Civil Engineering or Geophysics from an ABET accredited university with experience in applying geotechnical earthquake engineering and seismology principles
Minimum 10 years of geotechnical engineering experience
PE certification preferred
Experience in geotechnical earthquake engineering design and analysis, and ground motion characterization and seismic hazard implementation, preferably for nuclear power plants
Experience in software such as PLAXIS, FLAC3D, SASSI, RSPMATCH, and SHAKE preferred
Knowledge of codes, standards, regulations, guidelines of NRC, EPRI, NEI, ASCE and ASTM
Ability to gain and maintain unescorted access at power generation and nuclear power plants and DOE sites
Ability to provide technical guidance to support staff
Flexibility to respond and adapt to client and project needs
Strong written and oral communication skills
Ability to travel between 10-20% of the time; duration of travel may vary depending on project and client needs, ranging from a few days to a few weeks
