About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Service and maintain current accounts with orders and provide prompt, courteous customer service
  • Attending and participating in store resets as required
  • Compiles lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads
  • Travels through assigned territory to call on regular and prospective customers to solicit orders, sells displays, present items for distribution, and handle damages and off-condition product
  • Quotes prices and credit terms for orders obtained
  • Various local chain responsibilities to include cluster sales and price submissions as assigned by Manager
  • Estimates date of delivery to customer, based on knowledge of own firm's production and delivery schedules
  • Confers with District Manager to resolve customer problems
  • Investigates and resolves customer problems with deliveries
  • Identifies and responds to customers' needs
  • Maintains frequent and open communication with drivers, driver supervisors, district manager, sales managers and the general manager
  • Executes sales plans and maintains accounts according to company standards
  • Tracks and reports progress of goals on a weekly basis and/or as requested
  • Participates in supplier work-withs
  • Continually maintains training and product knowledge
  • Delivers emergency orders when needed
  • Attends trade shows
  • Conducts business according to local and state laws

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • one to three months related experience and/or training
  • equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Valid Driver’s License and State Sales Permit
  • knowledge of Order processing systems
