About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Maintain research project data, complete source documents/case report forms, and perform data entry
  • Assist with patient recruitment
  • Attend study meetings
  • Order and maintain equipment and supplies
  • Review medical records and conduct recruitment screenings
  • Perform participant interviews and quality-of-life questionnaires
  • Collect study specimens according to protocol, including possible phlebotomy, processing, and preparation for shipping

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School Diploma or GED and three years of administrative support experience
  • Or two years of college in a scientific, health related, or business administration program and one year of administrative support or customer service experience
  • Or licensed practical nurse (LPN) and one year of administrative support or licensed practical nursing experience
  • Or a Bachelor's degree, Master's degree, MD, or PhD in a scientific, health related, or business administration program
  • Experience with research coordination, including recruitment, consent, interviewing, and data entry
  • At least a bachelor's degree; psychology, social science, or public health preferred but not required
  • Strong organizational, attention-to-detail, and interpersonal skills
  • Willingness to complete a provided phlebotomy course
  • Venipuncture blood collection experience preferred but not required
  • Clinical training requirements must be tracked and monitored through Emory Healthcare under the Clinical Researcher credentialing category
  • Must reside in the state of Georgia
  • Must be able to commute to Emory University on a flexible weekly schedule
  • Position involves clinical patient contact and working with human blood, body fluids, tissues, or other potentially infectious materials
