About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform defined research and laboratory tests and experiments according to prescribed protocols and assigned schedules
- Set up experiments as prescribed by a principal investigator
- Participate in laboratory maintenance, including sterilization and cleaning of equipment, ordering supplies, inventory, and media preparation
- Maintain records, files, and logs of laboratory work in notebooks and computer databases
- Compile data and record study results for publications, grants, and seminar presentations
- Work with, take precautions against, and/or be immunized against potentially hazardous agents when required
- Perform related responsibilities as required by the principal investigator
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in a scientific field OR equivalent combination of experience, education, and training
- Ability to perform work in person at an Emory University location
- Ability to work in a laboratory
- Ability to work with human blood, body fluids, tissues, or other potentially infectious materials
- Ability to follow prescribed research protocols and schedules
- Ability to take precautions against and/or be immunized against potentially hazardous agents when required
