About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Perform defined research and laboratory tests and experiments according to prescribed protocols and assigned schedules
  • Set up experiments as prescribed by a principal investigator
  • Participate in laboratory maintenance, including sterilization and cleaning of equipment, ordering supplies, inventory, and media preparation
  • Maintain records, files, and logs of laboratory work in notebooks and computer databases
  • Compile data and record study results for publications, grants, and seminar presentations
  • Work with, take precautions against, and/or be immunized against potentially hazardous agents when required
  • Perform related responsibilities as required by the principal investigator

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in a scientific field OR equivalent combination of experience, education, and training
  • Ability to perform work in person at an Emory University location
  • Ability to work in a laboratory
  • Ability to work with human blood, body fluids, tissues, or other potentially infectious materials
  • Ability to follow prescribed research protocols and schedules
  • Ability to take precautions against and/or be immunized against potentially hazardous agents when required
