About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Perform defined research and laboratory tests and experiments according to prescribed protocols and assigned schedules
Set up experiments as prescribed by a principal investigator
Participate in laboratory maintenance, including sterilization and cleaning of equipment, ordering supplies, inventory, and media preparation
Maintain records, files, and logs of laboratory work in notebooks and computer databases
Compile data and record study results for publications, grants, and seminar presentations
Work with, take precautions against, and/or be immunized against potentially hazardous agents when required
Perform related responsibilities as required by the principal investigator

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's degree in a scientific field OR equivalent combination of experience, education, and training
Ability to perform work in person at an Emory University location
Ability to work in a laboratory
Ability to work with human blood, body fluids, tissues, or other potentially infectious materials
Ability to follow prescribed research protocols and schedules
Ability to take precautions against and/or be immunized against potentially hazardous agents when required
