Key responsibilities & impact

Perform specialized and complex research and laboratory tests and procedures under minimal supervision
Apply or adapt scientific techniques using independent judgment
Assist with protocol design
Investigate and propose alternative experimental procedures to the principal investigator
Assist in planning and scheduling research procedures
Analyze and interpret study results
Demonstrate and train others in laboratory techniques and equipment operation
Calibrate, troubleshoot, and perform routine repair and maintenance of equipment
Review literature on related research developments and techniques and compile findings

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's degree in a scientific field and two years of research experience, or equivalent combination of experience, education, and training
Ability to perform specialized and complex research and laboratory tests and procedures
Ability to apply or adapt scientific techniques independently
Ability to assist with protocol design
Ability to analyze and interpret research results
Ability to demonstrate and train others in laboratory techniques and equipment operation
Ability to calibrate, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain laboratory equipment
Ability to monitor laboratory processes for quality assurance
Ability to handle, store, and dispose of hazardous substances safely
May be required to work with, take precautions against, and/or be immunized against potentially hazardous agents
