About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide administrative support for general management, a research environment, or a specific program
  • Ensure office activities comply with Emory policies and procedures
  • Respond to incoming telephone calls
  • Maintain calendars and prioritize meeting requests for management
  • Review incoming correspondence, identify items of special interest, handle routine correspondence, and prepare responses
  • Complete forms, grant applications, and correspondence associated with programs
  • Prepare charts and graphs for reports and presentations
  • Create and edit scientific, programmatic, and other departmental reports
  • Schedule meetings and manage logistics for meetings and special events
  • Prepare materials for meetings and special events
  • Initiate, process, and maintain records and invoices
  • Keep management apprised of account status, identify cost-effective solutions, and potentially authorize expenditures
  • Monitor or maintain budgets and grants, assist with budget development, and prepare expense reports and reimbursements
  • Plan and coordinate travel arrangements
  • Maintain databases and spreadsheets, analyze data, and design or generate related reports
  • Establish and organize filing systems
  • Oversee ordering and maintenance of office supplies
  • May supervise or direct support staff and/or students
  • Perform related responsibilities as required

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree OR high school diploma (or equivalency) and five years of administrative support or secretarial experience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel
  • Experience with collaboration tools such as OneDrive, Zoom, Teams, and/or others
  • Must be able to commute to Emory University on a flexible weekly schedule based upon business needs
  • Residency in the state of Georgia required
