About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform routine and complex accounting activities requiring knowledge of systems and independent judgment
- Oversee activity on various accounts
- Analyze past and current data and prepare expense projections and operational forecasts
- Assist with audits
- Design and generate routine ad hoc reports and graphs
- Maintain grants and assist with budgets as needed
- Coordinate computer operations
- Conceptualize projects and follow through
- Provide direction to less experienced staff concerning accounting issues as needed
- Manage daily bank accounts and organizational revenue in the general ledger
- Perform related responsibilities as required
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field and one year of professional accounting experience, or equivalent combination of experience, education and training
- Excel skills, including pivot tables, sort/filter, formulas, templates, and uploading journal entries and files
- PDF skills, including organizing, adding, and editing pages
- ERP knowledge preferred
- Banking knowledge a plus
- Nonprofit experience including analysis of restrictions
- Must be currently authorized to work in the United States for any employer
- Must be able to commute to The Carter Center on a flexible weekly schedule
- Non-exempt employees must reside within the state of Georgia
