About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Coordinate operational Human Resources functions for a division or business unit
- Review and update organizational job descriptions
- Project staffing needs, interview and hire employees, and resolve staffing issues
- Advise staff on job reclassifications, new position requests, promotions/demotions, and salary determination
- Process appropriate Human Resources paperwork
- Provide guidance on organizational restructuring
- Assist with preparation and monitoring of the division's or business unit's budget
- Serve on and provide input to internal and external committees
- Represent the department on Human Resources matters
- Advise faculty on grant and leave request situations
- Lead and participate in special projects
- Design and generate reports
- Ensure employment, compensation, employee relations, and affirmative action practices comply with organizational and legal requirements
- Maintain records and files according to established procedures
- Hire, train, and supervise a small staff as needed
- Perform related responsibilities as required
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field
- Five years of professional human resources experience as a generalist or across multiple Human Resources specialties
- Experience may include employment, employee relations, compensation, or benefits administration
- Must reside in the state of Georgia
- Must be able to commute to Emory University on a flexible weekly schedule based upon business needs
